A recent project involving a roof replacement & gutter installation in Deltona, FL, showcases how modern materials can deliver superior protection, lasting beauty, and even financial returns for homeowners. This comprehensive exterior upgrade not only fortified the home against Florida’s demanding climate but also enhanced its curb appeal and long-term value.
The foundation of this project was the installation of Atlas Pinnacle® Pristine architectural shingles in the popular ‘Weathered Wood’ color. This shingle was selected for its combination of aesthetic appeal and robust performance. Pinnacle® Pristine shingles feature a design that creates deep, dimensional shadow lines, enhancing the home’s architectural character. To ensure this new look lasts, the shingles are manufactured with Scotchgard™ Protector by 3M, which uses copper-containing granules to prevent the formation of ugly black streaks caused by algae.
Beneath the shingles, the entire roof deck was covered with Weather Master® Ice and Water shield. This self-adhesive “peel and stick” underlayment bonds directly to the wood decking, creating a seamless secondary water barrier. This is a critical feature for Florida homeowners; should high winds damage or remove shingles during a storm, this secondary barrier is the last line of defense against water intrusion. Because it meets the state’s specific criteria, this full-deck application of a self-adhering underlayment qualifies the home for a Secondary Water Resistance (SWR) discount on their homeowner’s insurance policy, turning a necessary upgrade into a recurring financial benefit.
To complete the home’s water management system, we installed seamless 6-inch K-style gutters in a striking black finish. Formed on-site from a single piece of aluminum, these gutters have no seams, which are the most common points for leaks and failures in traditional sectional gutters. The 6-inch K-style design can handle nearly double the water volume of standard 5-inch models, a vital capability during Florida’s intense downpours. Their distinctive shape, which resembles decorative crown molding, adds a sharp, finished look to the roofline.
This Deltona project demonstrates a holistic approach to roofing—one where every component works together to provide protection, beauty, and a tangible return on investment.
